If you would like a really nice lawn throughout the year the work starts in the spring. As the days lengthen and the grass begins to grow. Follow these tips from the lawn care experts at Greengrass for a healthy lush lawn throughout the year.
mowing your lawn in spring
When your grass is 2-3 inches long then it is time for the first cut, set the mower on a high setting to remove only about one third of the growth. Over the next few weeks gradually reduce the height aiming always to only take off the top third. To trim the edges of the lawn set a line along the edge and either cut with a spade or use a half-moon edging tool.
feeding your lawn in spring
Avoid those troublesome weeds and let your lawn spring into action. We will book an appointment to visit your property and provide essential nutrients together with a selective weed killer to improve the condition of your lawn. This fertiliser stimulates growth and improves the colour of your lawn. Spring treatments commence from March / April, depending on the weather. We recommend that you do not cut your grass for 3 days prior to and 5 – 7 days following treatment.
